The Time Comes When It Starts To Cost You Money!
Like An Old Car, when things start to go wrong & it starts to let

you down. Their comes a time when you have to ask yourself

the question.

Do I throw money into an old out of date system, or spend a bit extra

for a new up to date system.

If your alarm system is 10 years+ it might be

worth thinking of upgrading before the

system start to give trouble.

Alarm Replacement
Deciding To Fit Wired Or Wireless
One thing to take into consideration when replacing an old wired

alarm system. ( How old is the wiring in the premises? )

Cabling 12 years and older will have deteriorate over time.

Old wiring can cause problems down the line, with the corrosion

of insulation with age. Stretching of cables is also a contributory

factor, due to buildings sinking over time.

Wireless alarm systems, eliminate unforeseen wiring problems

that can occur in the future.

Alarm Maintenance
Old Versus New
Older alarm systems ten to require more maintenance checks than,

modern alarm systems. This is due to certain alarm systems, having

modern capabilities to self diagnose, like our SmartLiving alarm

systems.

Colt Alarm Systems constantly check and diagnose themselves for

fluctuations in differential current throughout the system. Monitoring

of power supplies and battery life is constant.

RF signalling and communication comms are relayed to the system,

continually reporting the health of devices & components. Any

anomalies discovered are reported straight away and logged in the

logger.

Bell Only Systems

Bell only systems are a very dated aspect of alarm systems, people putting their faith into one of these systems, are leaving
themselves a lot less secure. Generally people don't take a blind bit of notice of alarm sounders, such that the external bell
has become obsolete due to the latest EN regulations that only allow sounders to ring for a maximum time of 15 minutes.
This has caused many alarm companies to only fit external bell boxes with company logos, which act a visual deterrent,
plus saving the customer excess cost.
